Migration and Vulnerability Conference set for October Environmental drivers of migration and migration as a coping strategy to reduce vulnerability will be among the issues discussed at the international conference on Migration and Vulnerability to be held in Bonn October 13-15. The conference is being organised by UNU Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS) in collaboration with partners from the EACH-FOR Project and other collaborating organizations such as UNDP, UNEP, UNESCO, and the Munich Re Foundation. The conference is designed to attract representatives of academia, public offices and ministries, NGOs, donors and humanitarian organizations to participate in a multidisciplinary discussion the mixes natural and social sciences, engineering, and scientific understanding with business, policy responses, and citizen participation. The event will be a venue for the sharing knowledge about migration and vulnerability patterns particularly related to environmental drivers, and seeking solutions to some of the vulnerability factors (social, economic, environmental) that contribute to migration. |
