Leaders to learn about hazardous waste management
UNU International Leadership Institute
(UNU-ILI) is following up last year's workshop on Leadership for Sound
Waste Management with a regional/international workshop on Hazardous Waste
Management Tools and Objectives for Leaders in the Industrial and
Agricultural Sectors.
The event, being organised in collaboration with the Basel Convention Regional Centre in Cairo and the WHO Centre for Environmental Health Activities in Amman, will be held at UNU-ILI headquarters in Amman May 20-23.
Main objective of this action-oriented event is to increase the awareness of leaders in industry and agriculture about best practices and techniques in hazardous waste management. The course will include field visits to industrial and agricultural sites in Jordan for insights into how to translate environmental approaches such as the preventive and precautionary principles into practice.
