UNU-FNP involved in two African conferences

UNU Food and Nutrition Programme (UNU-FNP) is sponsoring two important events in South Africa later this year.

The first is the inaugural conference of the African Graduate Students Nutrition Network (AGSNet) which will be held September 19 in Durban to coincide with the 18th International Nutrition Congress. The conference will have an administrative session devoted to development of the network and a scientific session with the theme Nutrition and Infection in Sub-Saharan Africa. Keynote speaker will be Wafaie Fawzi, associate professor of nutrition and epidemiology at Harvard School of Public Health. MORE INFORMATION

The fourth seminar of The African Nutrition Leadership Programme (ANLP) will be held Raaswater November 8-16. The ANLP is a leadership development and networking seminar aimed at assisting the development of future leaders in the field of human nutrition in Africa. The initiative grew from activities initiated by UNU-FNP and the International Union of Nutrition Sciences (IUNS) to develop capacity in nutrition in Africa. Emphasis is placed on understanding the qualities and skills of leaders, team building, communication and nutrition information in a broader context, and to understanding the role of nutrition science in the world.  MORE INFORMATION
